Professionally exclusive product offerings from ninety-eight of the most renown print labs and album makers from around the world were extensively evaluated as part of an intensive effort to find the absolute best fine art album available anywhere, and make it as easy as possible to get it into your hands by offering it at-cost, without any markup from the manufacturer.
No two papers are the same, and the intrinsic properties of each type, in combination with certain printing processes, determine the unique qualities and characteristics of the print. Because the rendering of the print is subjective, there is no combination of paper and process that is inherently better than another. Each combination lends itself to a certain set of print qualities and characteristics that can be selected for your specific needs. Characteristics of printed products include qualities such as finish, reflectivity, durability, tactility, weight, composition, color accuracy, tonal range, depth, and archival quality, which all contribute to a certain aesthetic.
Individual prints are available in a number of different papers, surface finishes, and coatings. The standard lustre coated print is recommended for most clients.
Paper and Canvas Wraps
Fine art gallery wraps are printed directly on museum quality canvas material using high quality archival inks. The canvas print is then wrapped around a stretcher frame so that the photo’s edges are visible on the sides of the frame. Alternatively you can choose to constrain the image to the surface of the wrap, and have a solid color border. Wraps are available in .75″, 1.5″, and 2.5″ depths. A lustre laminate is applied to each piece to protect the surface of the print and to provide UV light protection. Display ready with hanging hardware attached.
Photographic canvas gallery wraps are a stylish low-cost alternative to traditional framing. Images are printed on silver based photo paper with a lustre surface, and then bonded with high pressure and heat onto museum quality canvas. The resulting canvas print is then wrapped around a 1.5″ stretcher frame so that the photo’s edges are visible on the sides of the frame. Alternatively you can choose to constrain the image to the surface of the wrap, and and have a solid color border. A lustre laminate is applied to each piece to protect the surface of the print and to provide UV light protection. Display ready with hanging hardware attached.
Float frames are available for both fine art and photographic 1.5″ wraps. Canvas wraps are mounted with a space between the frame and the canvas wrap so that your print appears to be floating within the frame. (Quote upon request)
Thinwraps are a chic, frameless way to display images. Your image is printed on lustre paper or fine art canvas. The image is then over-laminated with a soft satin laminate, and mounted on foambord (with or without a foam layer between the print and the board). Finally, a .5″ spacer is attached to the back of the thinwrap which allows the image to be hung and appear to float from the wall.
Mounts and Standouts
Foamboard prints are mounted on a rigid lightweight foamboard backing with a matte black finish that will not warp. 1/2″ mount block spacers can be attached to the back of a foamboard print, allowing the image to hang so it appears to float off the wall. Available for prints on photo paper. (Quote upon request)
Masonite prints are mounted using pressure sensitive materials on 1/8-inch hardboard Masonite. This high-end material is very rigid and adds weight to your presentation for a finished product with long-lasting durability. Available on many standard size prints on photo paper. (Quote upon request)
Standouts can be mounted on solid bamboo panel, or a lightweight synthetic backing available in .75″ or 1.5″ depths with black, white, brushed stainless, or maple finished edges. Holes are included on the back of the mounts for easy hanging. Available for prints on photo paper or metal prints infused on aluminum. (Quote upon request)
Metal prints are created by infusing dyes directly into a specially coated aluminum sheet giving the image a luminescent quality with stunning depth and clarity. The hard scratch resistant surface is waterproof, weatherproof, and can be cleaned easily with any commercial glass cleaner. Metal prints are available in satin and sheer with a matte finish and optional corner treatments (rounded or scalloped). Metal prints can be displayed in a number of ways and even arranged in cluster and split configurations. Metal prints can be mounted flush to a metal frame, bamboo panel, or a synthetic standout. Metal prints can be floated off a hanging surface such as a wall (using stylish stainless steel corner posts or a hidden float mount hanger), or even a second larger metal print (for a contemporary framing effect). A metal print can also be floated within a frame, producing a print that appears to be suspended in space. Float displays are a great way to add depth to any metal print.
Clusters and Splits
Wall Clusters and Splits offer a unique way to combine a number of complementary images, or split up a single image, into an arrangement that enhances visual impact.
Wall Clusters are made up of separate images that are printed on individual pieces of metal or canvas with a suggested display arrangement.
Wall Splits are made up of one single image that is printed across separate pieces of metal or canvas, which when arranged in the pre-determined configuration, displays the entire image.
An example of both products using the same configuration
The individual prints that make up clusters and splits are not always the same dimensions, in fact, most configurations are made up of prints of different dimensions. Therefore, some configurations work better with certain images or image groupings, however, any configuration can be made into a cluster or a split. Even though cluster configurations are selected based on an intended arrangement of the images, the arrangement can be modified on the wall since each piece is a print of only one image. Splits, however, cannot be modified since each piece in the configuration is a part of the larger image. Thus, each piece in a wall split must remain in its relative location within the configuration in order to display the image correctly. Wall clusters and splits are priced less than the cost of individual prints in the configuration.
Acrylic prints are made by applying a layer of adhesive to an air dusted print on photo paper. The print is then mounted to a sheet of high grade acrylic (plexiglass) and attached to a dibond backer for rigidity. This process is known as face mounting, and produces a much more color rich and accurate image than processes that print directly to the acrylic. Face mounted acrylic prints are highly reflective, both on the surface and within the acrylic, producing incredibly vibrant colors and a greater sense of depth than conventional prints for a sleek and modern display.
